Size and Print Limitations

Design for the process

Size and Print Limitations

Build volume is only one part of deciding whether an object can be printed.

We assess

  • Overall dimensions and whether the model must be split.
  • Wall thickness, unsupported features and fine detail.
  • Orientation, visible surfaces and support marks.
  • Tolerances for mating parts.
  • Load, impact, temperature and environment.

No safety-critical claims

FDM prints are anisotropic and can fail differently along layer lines. We do not accept safety-critical, life-supporting or regulated applications.
